"Stone me, what a life"

You may be too youthful to recall this old radio show come television show, but it was very influencial in developing the genre of the Sitcom. Was a quirky show and like these wines, especially the Touriga, definitely something different!

The Shiraz - Restrained and supple, lots of ripe dark plum, pepper and spice of Shiraz with the rose petal perfume lift and red cherry taste of Grenache.

Lovely lightness and brightness to the back palate with a faint dried herbal and savoury edge, making it terrific immediate drinking but will cellar nicely for 5-10 years.

The Cabernet Touriga - An assemblage of four grape varieties: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Touriga Nacional, 7% Shiraz and 4% Malbec. The wine style is red, rich and intense, with this blend being identified as a “rare red”. Opulent and potent, this wine shows a deep vibrant colour. Initial aromas are of perfumed violets, toasted marshmallows, vanilla and nutmeg.

The dominant varietal characters here are black currant and crushed leaf flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon. After the first taste of the wine, the palate experiences a “palate-coating” mouth feel of blueberry, blackberry, plum and bittersweet cocoa coupled with a stimulating flavour of mint and violet. The texture of the wine is balanced, with the Touriga variety providing a little grip.
